True to his words, and with the encouragement and support of family and friends, in December of 1982 Marty established a foundation dedicated to granting wishes to children (ages 3 to 17) with a life-threatening or terminal illness. The philosophy behind his mission was that by promoting hope and inspiration in a sick child, they will find the courage and strength to fight their illness. What was perceived as impossible could become possible! For the past 37 years, The Marty Lyons Foundation has granted over 7,600 wishes to their wish children through their original First Wish Program and will consider a second wish to a deserving child through their unique Second Wish Program. They are proud to have 10 Chapters covering 13 states! The all-new M8 will be coming next year! The 2020 BMW M8 packs up to 617 horsepower and selectable AWD! Road and Track stated that the base M8 coupe and convertible produce 600 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, while Competition models get an extra 17 hp. The performance promises to be exceptional: BMW says the standard M8 coupe is capable of 0-60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, and the convertible will do it in 3.2. With the Competition package, those numbers drop by a tenth. Top speed for all models is electronically limited to 155 mph, increasing to 189 mph with the optional M driver's package. Visual upgrades are as you'd expect from a modern M car. There are more aggressive bumpers front and rear, blacked-out exterior trim, and a carbon fiber reinforced plastic roof as standard. Inside, drivers get a new "setup" button that controls settings for engine response, dampers, steering, braking, and xDrive systems. The M mode button on the center console allows the driver to shuffle through Road and Sport modes, with an additional Track mode available for Competition models. BMW is celebrating 35 years of the M5 in style! Just as expected, the Edition 35 Years has a list of unique touches that distinguish it from the M5 Competition, which it was based on. The matte Frozen Dark Grey II paint was created by BMW Individual and BMW states that it uses a special pigmentation to create “the appearance of a silk matte surface”. Read on to find out precisely what your warning lights mean, so you can be prepared when it’s time to schedule a service appointment with Competition BMW of Smithtown. BMW Dash Warnings: Empty/Low Fuel When this warning light turns on, your vehicle has about 30 miles before you run out of fuel. Be sure to fill up on gas soon to avoid damage to your vehicle’s fuel system. Light Bulb When you see this icon, it means that the external lights may be out or may be having an issue. Dynamic Stability Control When this symbol lights up, it means that the traction control system has been engaged, meaning that the system has detected wheel slippage. Tire Pressure Monitor This warning light indicates that one or more of your tires is underinflated. If the light is yellow, this indicates that the tire pressure is down by approximately 10%.
