October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and at Competition BMW, we are proud to support the fight against breast cancer. Our staff has worn pink throughout the month to show solidarity with those affected by this disease. We are partnering with Pink Aid, the only national non-profit organization providing compassionate support and urgent financial assistance to patients in dire need. Pink Aid helps cover essential costs like transportation to treatment, groceries, and other basic necessities. This year, we sponsored and attended the LI Pink Rocks Broadway event at the Paramount in Huntington, NY, celebrating our community’s commitment to this vital cause. The King Fights Cancer Foundation The King Fights Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization with origins starting in Queens, New York. Created in honor of their son, King Singh, as well as his siblings, the King Fights Cancer Foundation is dedicated to aiding families of children with life-threatening illnesses. King was diagnosed with high-risk acute lymphoblastic leukemia and a rare, incurable blood disease at the age of 2. During his 3+ years of intense daily chemotherapy, King was unmoving in his optimism. After one of his routine accessessments, King was given an option of being rewarded with either bubbles or a sticker, choosing the bubbles. Unknown to King, another patient had him under her gaze. As King was leaving the doctor's room, ready to blow bubbles, another patient began crying and pointing, requesting his bubbles. Unlike many young children, especially those who are in pain, King immediately and selflessly gave his new toy to her! Through King's unbridled consideration and generosity for others, the founders of the King Fights Cancer Foundation already the inspiration to create these special giving moments for other children all along! Ever since, the King Fights Cancer Foundation has been dedicated to supporting families with children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses and King is busy being an amazing 8 year old! Tim was also driving to Starbucks. Differing from Mr. Buzzetta, Tim was not traveling in a vehicle, he was taking strides in his remote wheelchair. As fate would have it, Joe had his father's, and deceased founder's, handicap-accessible 2020 Honda Odyssey van on hand. Competition Auto Group and Competition BMW are indescribably proud to donate Joe Buzzetta Sr.'s wheelchair-accessible van to Tim! Tim is so excited to gain back access to his license, and most importantly, a grander scale of independence! If you are able, our donation collections are until December 14th and December 19th. We will be humbly collecting donations for Angels of Long Island until the 14th and collecting until December 19th for EJ’S PJS! Competition BMW is graciously requesting donations on behalf of Angels of Long Island. Angels of Long Island is a non-profit organization that offers a large range of goods and services to the local Long Island Community. The mission of Angels of Long Island is to advocate and aid struggling Long Islanders during these frustrating economic times. We are humbly requesting new books, puzzles, gift cards, toys, and sports equipment for children from ages 3 years old to 5 years old! Please feel no obligation to donate if you do not have the budget or means! Additionally, if you are able to donate, we request that you please do not wrap these gifts! For EJ’S PJs for 2022, we are humbly asking for new pajamas, preferably for children aged from 3 years old to 5 years old. For either of these incredible organizations, if you would like to donate something that is for children outside of this age range, we would love to accept and donate it on your behalf!
