Who are The Crime Victims Center?


The Crime Victims Center: Parents for Megan's Law is a not-for-profit 501(c) organization dedicated to safeguarding against the horrors of child sexual abuse and rape and advocating for comprehensive trauma-informed care for victims of violent crime, including our elderly, minors, and those with disabilities.


The Crime Victims Center supports Long Island by utilizing steadfast determination and their resilient services to ensure safety for victims and accountability for perpetrators. The Crime Victims Center works selflessly to support victims with the necessary consideration, kindness and services available to aid victims.


For a great cause, Competition BMW provided The Crime Victims Center of Ronkonkoma, NY, with a BMW vehicle as an eligible hole-in-one-prize for one talented #CompetitionBMWFam winner during their annual Charity Golf Outing on May 20th, 2024.

Our staff has worn pink throughout the month to show solidarity with those affected by this disease. We are partnering with Pink Aid, the only national non-profit organization providing compassionate support and urgent financial assistance to patients in dire need. Pink Aid helps cover essential costs like transportation to treatment, groceries, and other basic necessities. This year, we sponsored and attended the LI Pink Rocks Broadway event at the Paramount in Huntington, NY, celebrating our community’s commitment to this vital cause. A Game-Changer for EV Sustainability In a recent press release, BMW of North America announced its collaboration with Redwood Materials to recycle lithium-ion batteries from their electric, plug-in hybrid, and mild hybrid vehicles, including BMW, MINI, Rolls-Royce, and BMW Motorrad models. This initiative not only emphasizes BMW’s commitment to sustainability but also establishes a robust recycling ecosystem. Redwood Materials will leverage BMW’s extensive network of nearly 700 dealerships, distribution centers, and facilities to collect spent batteries. They will extract valuable minerals such as nickel, cobalt, lithium, and copper, effectively reintegrating these resources back into the battery supply chain. This innovative recycling process boasts an impressive sustainability record, reportedly reducing energy consumption by 80%, CO2 emissions by 70%, and water usage by 80% compared to competing methods. Who Is Redwood Materials? Founded in 2017 by JB Straubel, a co-founder of Tesla and its former CTO, Redwood Materials has built an impressive portfolio of recycling partnerships, working with automotive giants like Tesla, Ford, GM, and Toyota, as well as major players like Amazon. Their facility in Reno, Nevada, is already operational, with another location under construction in Charleston, South Carolina, which will play a pivotal role in supporting BMW’s plants in Spartanburg and Woodruff. BMW's Commitment to Electric Mobility BMW is heavily investing in the EV space, currently offering a plethora of electric models: the i4, i5, i7, X5 xDrive50e, BMW 330e, 750e xDrive, XM, and the iX SUV.
