2021 BMW i4 – The New Electric Ultimate Driving Machine

The BMW i3 and BMW i8 are getting ready to welcome in a new electric model to their EV family. BMW is expanding their EV portfolio with an electric sedan that is said to have a 530 horsepower electric motor and an 80.0-kWh battery pack. Based on the 3-series, the brand’s most popular model, the all-new 2021 BMW i4 electric sedan is expected to go on sale sometime in 2021. Engine & Performance

The 2021 BMW i4 is expected to produce 530 horsepower and hit 0-60 mph in 4 seconds. Car and Driver Magazine expects the i4 to offer both rear and all-wheel drive which will produce different 0-60 mph times.

Battery Life, Travel Range, Charging

Equipped with an 80.0-kWh battery pack, the i4 is expected to have a 150-kilowatt charging capacity. On a full battery, BMW says the i4 sedan will be able to travel up to 372 miles. BMW says that 80 percent of the car’s driving range can be charged in just 35 minutes.

Interior

The interior of the i4 is designed with light wood trims, white leather upholstery, and rose gold trims. Car and Driver Magazine expects that the model will share the same spacious interior as the 3-series sedan. The four-door-coupe body style differs from the 3-series a bit due to its dramatic roofline and large rear liftgate that has a large cargo area.

Technology

Car and Driver Magazine expects the i4 to be equipped with a large touchscreen infotainment screen with gesture-operated controls and a fully digital gauge cluster. With every current BMW offering Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless phone charging, and audio system upgrades, the i4 is expected to have these features as well.
