John is one of our wonderful Client Advisors and has been part of the Competition BMW family since 2014. He was born and raised in Lisbon and currently lives in Patchogue. When asked what he loves most about his job, John answered “I love interacting with people. I’m very passionate about the brand, and have known the cars since I was 4 years old. BMW is like a culture. I enjoy every detail about it.” John’s favorite BMW is the 840xi Grand Coupe M Sport. (Great choice!)

When John’s not at work, he enjoys spending time with his husband and his two maltese puppies (Ms. Viva & Tito), doing yard work, and riding his bicycle in nice weather.

Nina Maldonado is one of our always-friendly Sales Advisors here at Competition BMW of Smithtown! I’ve been in the automotive industry for nearly a decade. I joined the team at Competition BMW of Smithtown in November 2018, beginning my journey as a BMW Genius. After two years in that role, I transitioned into sales, where I’ve proudly helped clients find their dream cars for the past seven years.

What drives me most is creating a seamless and exciting experience for every customer — from the first test drive to the final handshake.

Outside of work, I’m a passionate foodie. Whether I’m experimenting in the kitchen or exploring new restaurants, I love discovering all types of cuisine.

Mueed is one of our marvelous Client Advisors at Competition BMW of Smithtown. As a passionate member of the automotive industry since 2018, we love having Mueed work and flourish at our dealership in St. James. He’s been working with Competition BMW of Smithtown since April of 2022 and takes immense pride in his role!

Mueed’s favorite part of his job is working with the BMW brand and being around BMW vehicles all day! His favorite BMW model is the BMW M3.

Outside of work, Mueed loves going to car shows, driving and playing video games.

Meet Zachary Mitchell, the Client Advisor at Competition BMW of Smithtown. Zach has been within the automotive industry since 2020, initially with the Mitsubishi brand, before taking a brief break from automotives. Circling back to his roots in mid-2022, Zachary joined our #CompetitionBMWFam as a Valet in our Service Department, where he quickly advanced to the role of BMW Genius. Now, as an informative Client Advisor, Zachary’s favorite part of his job is teaching clients about the BMW brand, as well as helping them find their dream cars! Outside of work, Zachary enjoys traveling, spending time with family, attending car-related and skiing in the winter! Thank you for all of your dedication, congratulations Zachary!

I have been in the automotive industry for 7 years now in sales and management. I left honda which I have been with for many years to join the Competition Auto group in September. I love sales because it’s always evolving and I love meeting new people daily! In my spare time I enjoy working out, reading and trying out different restaurants. My dream is to go to culinary school so I can become a chef because I love to cook and open a high end restaurant that embraces different dishes from the caribbean.

John Calvelli is a new member of our team at Competition BMW! With 17 years of automotive experience through Nissan, John brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his new role at Competition BMW. John is new to the brand, he’s looking forward to helping our clients accomplish their automotive goals. Outside of work, John enjoys spending quality time with his family. John is especially dedicated to supporting his two sons out on the baseball field, where you can often find them practicing together. We’re thrilled to have John on board and can’t wait for you to meet him!

Nicholas joined Competition BMW of Smithtown in January of 2025, bringing seven years of industry experience and a lifelong passion for cars. With his father in the business for nearly 40 years, he grew up surrounded by the automotive world, attending the New York Auto Show every year and developing a deep love for European cars—especially BMW.

With a background in customer service since 16 and sales since 18, Nicholas pairs his firsthand ownership knowledge with a genuine enthusiasm for helping clients find their perfect vehicle. Outside the dealership, he’s a musician, producer, and guitar collector. He also speaks some Spanish and thrives in the welcoming, leadership-driven atmosphere at Competition BMW, where he’s excited to share his expertise and passion every day.

Brian Donohue started working within the automotive industry and at Competition BMW of Smithtown in 2017 as a BMW Genius and has continued flourishing over the years! After his role as a BMW Genius, Brian proudly transitioned to Managing Inventory and Dealer Trades, and is blooming everyday! Brian’s favorite part of his job is the creativity that is involved with ordering cars to meet customer needs, and to showcase the always impressive spectrum of options that BMW offers!

We are so proud of Brian and his dedication to Competition BMW. He utilizes every morsale of experience he earned as a BMW Genius and efficiently orders iconic sedans, crossovers and SUVs for our #CompetitionBMWFam!

Hunter has been part of the Competition BMW team for the past three years. Starting out as a BMW Genius, his passion for the brand and dedication to excellence quickly earned him a promotion to Inventory Coordinator and Lot Manager. One of Hunter’s favorite aspects of the role is representing the dealership at events across Competition Auto Group—bringing people together and sharing the excitement of the brand. Outside of work, Hunter is a big fan of sports and loves attending live sporting events whenever he can.
