2022 BMW X4 M vs. 2022 Mercedes GLC 63 AMG

The SUV market has become the biggest in the automotive industry, with more and more consumers looking for a vehicle that can handle both city driving and off-road terrain. SUVs are also becoming increasingly popular as luxury vehicles – why do manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes-Benz have their versions of performance SUVs on offer? This article will compare the 2022 BMW X4 M vs. the 2022 Mercedes GLC 63 AMG.

Design & Style

  • Exterior Design

The BMW X4 M is undeniably the more aggressive of these two, with its larger and more pronounced grille lines and boxier profile. The Mercedes GLC 63 AMG has a far more sophisticated look, slimmer headlights and taillights, and a narrower front end. Both models have large grilles upfront; however, those on the BMW are even larger than those on the GLC 63 AMG.

Both vehicles also offer similar wheels and tires: 19-inch wheels for both cars (20-inch optional). The size difference makes sense when considering that each vehicle falls into different categories: Sport Activity Coupes in one case; Sports Sedans in another.

  • Interior Design

When it comes to the interiors of their respective vehicles, BMW and Mercedes both put a lot of effort into making their cars stand out. The X4 M features a two-tone interior with black leather seats and trims paired with the light brown wood trim on the dash, doors, and console. This detail adds to the vehicle’s sporty feel and makes it look more luxurious than its competitors.

On the other hand, Mercedes’ GLC 63 AMG has an all-black interior that is more practical for those who use their SUVs as tools rather than luxury items. While this may seem like an advantage for Mercedes at first glance because they’re catering towards more practical buyers (such as myself), it’s not very practical compared to BMW’s design because you can’t see anything when sitting in your seat! As someone who prefers comfort over everything else in life, I would choose BMW whenever given these options.”

Technology & Safety

The technologies and safety features of the 2022 BMW X4 M and 2022 Mercedes GLC 63 AMG are very similar. Both models offer a variety of active safety systems that use cameras, radar, and sonar to detect objects or animals near the vehicle and aid in avoiding collisions. These include forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, automatic emergency braking with the pedestrian detection system, lane departure warning system with lane keeping assist plus steering assist feature (not available on 2WD models), blind spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert (not available on 4WD models), front collision mitigation braking system (not available on 2WD models).

Performance

The BMW X4 M has a twin-turbocharged V8 engine that’s powerful enough to give the Mercedes GLC 63 AMG a good run for its money. The engine is mated to a 9 -speed automatic transmission and can produce 469 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque, allowing it to achieve 0–60 mph in 3.6 seconds. For those who want to enjoy their driving experience on the open road, you can hit speeds of up to 187 mph thanks to this car’s excellent design and aerodynamics.

The Bottom Line

This comparison shows that the BMW X4 M is the better car. It has a classier design and better technology, which are important factors for many buyers. The Mercedes is more powerful and has better fuel economy, but it doesn’t make up for the other differences.

If you’re looking at these two vehicles, we recommend you go with the BMW X4 M if possible.
