One look at the BMW X6 and you know for sure you’re looking at a masterpiece. It exudes a rare kind of confidence that speaks volumes about its performance. It does not end at just the performance though. BMW X6 will effortlessly meet and even surpass your expectations as far as aesthetics are concerned. Meanwhile, the F-Pace tries to play catch up albeit in vain. It is Jaguar’s first model to be infused with the Land Rover DNA, which explains why there appears to be some sort of hype around it.
Design & Style
The BMW X6 can seat up to five people in two rows. It also has a stylish interior made up of premium materials that give it an upscale appearance. The Jaguar F-Pace can also seat five people but its interior is a completely different story. Its cabin is fitted with mediocre elements that do not befit a luxury car.
Technology & Safety
The BMW X6 is fitted with a moon-roof as well as the iDrive infotainment system. This system includes a 10.2-inch touch screen with high-res graphics, a nine-speaker audio system and a USB port. It also provides for navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, Apple CarPlay, wireless device charging, satellite radio as well as a Wi-Fi hot spot. Adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, emergency braking as well as pedestrian detection are among its safety features.
The Jaguar F-Pace comes with an infotainment system as well. However, it is not as equipped as that of the BMW X6. It is also a bit less responsive than that of its counterpart. The infotainment system generally works well apart from the time it struggles to sync a smartphone. Its safety features are similar to those of the BMWX6.
The BMW X6 comes with a turbocharged six-cylinder base engine that produces a horsepower of 300. Options are also available in terms of two V8s that yield 445 and 567 horsepower. These V8s also provide more dynamic acceleration than the six-cylinder engine. The base engine gets 18mpg in the city and 24mpg on the highway. The SUV guarantees you a smooth ride even when driving on curvy roads or crowded streets.
The Jaguar F-Pace has a turbocharged four-cylinder base engine that produces a horsepower of 247 which is inferior to that of the BMW X6. It has options in a V8 engine that can yield 550-horsepower, which is still less than that of its counterpart. It however gets a 22mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway with its base engine.
The Bottom Line
Apart from the fuel efficiency, the BMW X6 is a better car in comparison to the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace. This is in terms of the elegant interior made up of premium materials and the infotainment system that is superior. The performance of its engine is also superior to that of the 2020 Jaguar F-Pace.
