2020 BMW M5 vs. 2021 Audi RS6

The 2020 BMW M5 has introduced the new four-wheel drive system – a first for the M5. With better traction on roads and insane acceleration timings, the M5 is a force to be reckon with. On the other hand, the 2021 Audi RS6 is an excellent family car with fantastic performance.

Here is a comparison between both cars.

Design & Style

There are very few differences between the Interiors of the 2020 BMW M5 and that of the standard 5-series, which isn’t a bad thing at all! With bolstered sport seats, cushioned armrest and edges trimmed in premium leather, the M5 is a very comfortable and luxurious car. With the wide range of steering wheel and seat adjustments, it is easy to get comfortable in the M5.

The cabin comes with carbonfibre trimmings and leather seats as standard in the 2021 Audi RS6. With bolstered seats and seat adjustments, it is easy to feel comfortable in the RS6, especially for long rides. The overall dark-grey ambience of the cabin can be rather dull for some, but this is compensated by the attention to detail that Audi has put into designing the cabin.

Technology & Safety

There is a lot to look forward to when it comes to the iDrive infotainment system in the 2020 BMW M5. The infotainment system offers many applications and is loaded with tons of high-tech features. Some exciting ones include BMW personal assistant and gesture controls. It is certainly one of the best in the market and is easier to use. Besides the standard safety features, the M5 has electronic stability control, BMW Assist and blind spot detectors in place.

The 2021 Audi RS6 gets an 8.0-inch crisp screen that displays Audi’s intuitive MMI infotainment system. Offering services such as Apple Carplay, satellite navigation and audio streaming, the MMI system is still one of the better ones out in the market. However, it still lags slightly behind class-leading BMW’s iDrive system. In addition to the standard safety features, the RS6 has electronic stabilization control, pedestrian detection and engine immobilizer with crash sensor.

Performance

The base eight-cylinder 4.4-liter turbocharged engine in the 2020 BMW M5 can produce up to a mighty 600-horsepower. As compared to the 2021 Audi RS6, the eight-cylinder 4.0-litres turbocharged engine of the RS6 can produce up to 590-horsepower. Both cars offer the four-wheel drive system, which provides better road traction and faster acceleration.

The Bottom Line

The 2021 Audi RS6 is beloved for providing an excellent performing engine in the form of a family car. From this comparison, however, it is obvious that the RS6 pales in comparison to the 2019 BMW M5 for a multitude of reasons – better engine, design and infotainment system. The 2019 BMW M5 is just that much better!
