2020 BMW 8-Series vs 2020 Porsche Boxster

The 2020 BMW 8 Series is a perfect driver’s car with powerful engines, well-designed cockpit and athletic handling giving a pleasurable driving experience. This car is excellent in terms of power, performance, design, style and features.

The 2020 Porsche Boxster is a high-end luxury sports car with pleasing interior, comfortable seating and muscular engines. All in all, it has earned a good predicted reliability.

Design & Style

The 2020 BMW 8-Series coupe and convertible have four seats with two doors. This car is best for a compact family. The front seats are power-adjustable with heating; ventilation features whereas the rear seats only have the heating option which is more than enough. The seats have leather finish with standard trim options like copper-hue wood, gained ash wood and gray metallic finish, to name but a few of the wide range of aesthetic options.

The two-seater Porche Boxster is a roadster with sports seats. These are comfortable but not adjustable, which is one of the major drawbacks of this car. The wide side bolstering with 18-way power adjustments tries to provide comfort but that may not please everyone. The high-end disappoints with some plastic surfaces in the standard model but you can get them customized for an additional cost.

Technology & Safety

2020 BMW 8-Series comes with iDrive infotainment system with a huge touch screen, buttons and on-screen menus. It also has wireless charging and Wi-Fi hot spot facilities to please smartphone users. It also offers a 1-year subscription of Apply CarPlay. There is a 12.3-inch screen in front of the driver to avail of the information and standard features given such as navigation, satellite radio, forward collision warning, etc.

The Porsche Boxter is not so high-tech as other Porsche cars but it is equipped with comfort and style. It has a sleek 7-inch infotainment system with easy-to-use Porsche Communication Management (PCM) interface. Using this is easy with options like Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, navigation and dual-zone automatic climate control.

The 2020 BMW 8-Series has a powerful 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine of 335 horsepower. Within five seconds, the speed can go from zero to 60-mph. The same can also be achieved in just 4.4 seconds when the car has xDrive. The M8 is even more robust in this range which takes only 3 seconds to reach 60-mph.

The 2020 Porsche Boxster T has three engines with a four-cylinder engine that produces a mere 300 horsepower. As compared to the BMW 8-Series, this is quite disappointing for Porsche. However, 728 Spyder is a tough competitor to BMW in the Boxter range.

The Bottom Line

If you want a performing, dynamic and rich-interior car, the 2020 BMW 8 Series is the best pick. You’d get style, comfort yet athletic performance in this car for a relaxing and pleasurable drive.
