2020 BMW 6-Series vs. 2020 Lexus LS

The 2020 BMW 6-Series is back with a “facelift” after an unsuccessful return due to its odd appearance early 2020, despite its spaciousness and comfort it provides. Now, it is back to impress car buyers and lovers with its robust selection of technological enhancements. Meanwhile, the 2020 Lexus LS has always been popular since 2017, and this year’s Lexus LS series remain largely unchanged, unfortunately putting itself in fierce competition with the BMW 6-Series.

Design & Style

The new version of the BMW 6-Series now has a L-shaped front light graphics, a brand-new grille and wheel designs. It looks much more sporty yet elegant. Its interior maintained its classy, high-standard of comfort and design. The Dakota leather seats, spacious rear seats that are rare in the sport car industry, massive stretch-out and trunk space. The interior design makes you feel like grand and comfortable.

The 2020 Lexus LS embodies the Lexus design philosophy of nothing but bold. With a massive grille design at the front, with black grille surrounds and embellishments on the bumpers, and LED headlights with the “L” design elements, the Lexus LS looks magnificent on the outside. In the interior, seats are comfortable in the front and back with heating and massage functionality. However, you will need to add $23,080 to fold the front seat for more space for the back.

Technology & Safety

BMW did not just stop at updating their exterior. This quirky hatchback gets an enhanced iDrive 7 system with a 12.3 inch touchscreen display, new arrangement of buttons on the steering wheel for the driver’s easier access, the original Apple CarPlay with an addition of Android Auto. Its driver assistance features have also improved with advanced technology. The usual lane departure warning now comes with late return capability, and the navigation system is much more faster than before.

There is nothing special about the LEXUS LS, as it carries basic safety features that we see in almost every sports car. A driver’s head-up display, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirrors and a power glass sunroof. One factor that makes it a little more special is the seats ventilation and a Shiatsu massage with 28 ways of adjustment. However, its infotainment system, a laptop-style touch pad has been proven to be frustrating to use, with missing menu items, slow response times, and in the way of the driver.

Performance

There are five engines to choose when driving the BMW 6-Series. With its amazing eight-speed automatic, the BMW 6-Series remains at the top, along with its 620 horsepower 620d and 333hp 640i. On the other hand, the Lexus LS produces 416 horsepower, but with a ten-speed automatic.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 BMW 6-Series is way more advanced and trumps the Lexus LS with its navigation system and comfort at the front and back. It is safe, drives fast, and one of the most spacious sports car in the world.
