Unlike the Ford, many of the BMW X4’s most critical safety features come standard, and do not require extra cost to install. Some of these include emergency automatic brakes, pedestrian detection, and a collision detection system that automatically tightens seat belts and prepares passengers in the event an impact is unavoidable. This combined with its surround view, lane control and heads up display are impressive. Additional perks include touchscreens which are 10.3 inches, wireless connectivity and Apple CarPlay.
Performance
The BMW comes with a turbo 6, 3 liter engine that can produce 355 horsepower with 365 pound of torque. The Ford Expedition is equipped with a V6, twin turbo engine that is 3.5 liter and capable of generating 375 horsepower with 470 pound of torque.
The Bottom Line
Both of these SUVs are impressive, but only one can be king of the hill. Aside from the fact that many of the Expedition’s safety features require buyers to pay extra, its size can actually become a liability when trying to find a parking lot, so the BMW X4 wins.
