The 2019 BMW X1 is nimble, fast, well-built extremely spacious and undoubtedly upscale. It, therefore, does not come as a surprise that it is an award-winning model. It could be because of its irresistibly four-cylinder engine which is of course, turbocharged.  It could also because of its exterior design or its comfort. Whatever it is, 2019 BMW X1 will win your heart without struggling. See it once and you know for sure you must have it. The 2019 Honda CR-V, on the other hand, appears to try hard to impress. It convinces you to notice it and you actually do notice it. With an exterior design that leaves little to be desired, noticing it is not so hard after all. Either way, it gives the BMW a good run for its money with quite a number of features.
Design & Style
It’s the finer details that count when it comes to award-winning automotive design. In that regard, the 2019 BMW X1 fits the bill. It boasts of a monochromatic look and feel of the all-time popular M Sport package, a sport-tuned suspension and comfortably designed sports seats.  Other notable features include a sporty M branded steering wheel, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails and a blacked-out window trim.
2019 Honda CR-V is not that bad as far as design is concerned. But the design must go hand in hand with comfort. That is where 2019 Honda CR-V losses it. Its aesthetic appeal is notable. Its comfort on the other hand, is not guaranteed both for the driver and the passenger.
Technology & Safety
BMW made several features standard across their X1 family. But even then, 2019 BMW X1 still stands out with unique yet innovative safety features. You’ll find its forward collision warning handy especially driving through a busy city highway.  The model also comes along with lane departure warning, automatic high beam headlamps, parking sensors and navigation complete with real-time traffic updates.
2019 Honda CR-V is a decent cross over. But how is one expected to put up with slow infotainment responses as well as the absence of auxiliary input? You may also not like 2019 Honda CR-V’s rotary volume knob.
Performance
It is hard not to fall in love with a silky 228 hp turbocharged engine. That is what the 2019 BMW X1 engine is all about. It is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that found a perfect match in an eight-speed automatic transmission to give you a unique driving experience. Keep in mind the model is an all-wheel-drive so you actually have a beast on the road demanding respect.
2019 CR-V has been touted by many for its fuel economy. When it comes to performance though, the BMW X1 series beats it hands down solely because of 2019 Honda CR-V’s poor acceleration and a four-cylinder engine which is annoyingly less responsive. You have to give it to Honda though for coming up with their first-ever turbocharged engine in 2019 Honda CR-V.
Bottom line Â
Think of the BMW X1 as a blend between a sports car and an SUV. It leans more towards the sporty side though. Its ride is easy which gets even better with an electrically assisted power steering. Driving it is simply a joy. The same cannot be said of 2019 Honda CR-V. It offers a seamless driving experience, yes, but driving it feels like driving any other car.
