Designed with practicality in mind and fitted with an excellent engine, the 2019 BMW M2 is a fantastic car with an all-round appeal. The 2019 Audi TT RS is a fan-favorite when it comes to buying coupé sports cars, boasting excellent engines and a great interior.
Here is a comparison between both cars.
Design & Style
The 2019 BMW M2 is a stunning coupé that can fit up to 4 passengers comfortably. The M2 proves that you don’t have to sacrifice practicality while designing a great-looking coupé. The 390-litre boot provides large amount of space for your items and there is plenty of legroom for your passengers to be comfortable, which is unlike most coupé sports cars. Trimmed with leather upholstery and equipped with seat and steering wheel adjustments, it is easy to feel comfortable on the M2.
Audi has a reputation of producing excellent interiors for their cars and the 2019 Audi TT RS is no exception. It’s the small details in the design, such as the stylishly designed controls, that makes the TT RS stand out from the rest. Trimmed in chrome accents, soft plastics and nappa leather, the TT RS is a really luxurious car. Our only qualm about its design is that the seating position of the driver seat isn’t ideal for a sports car. The pedals can feel rather close to the driver and the seat is set relatively too high to recreate the sports car feel.
Technology & Safety
There is a lot of features to look forward to when it comes to the 2019 BMW M2. The M2 is gifted with BMW’s excellent iDrive infotainment system. The system is loaded with tons of features such as BMW personal assistant, Apple Carplay and Spotify. The rotary dials and touchscreen has made it easy to use, even when on the move. In addition to the usual safety features, Driving Assistance Packages, BMW Assist (telematic roadside assistance service), security systems are also in place.
Fitted with a 14-speaker stereo, Audi’s excellent MMI infotainment system, the 2019 Audi TT RS has many good features that drivers can look to expect. The infotainment system is placed is displayed behind the steering wheel, along with the car’s gauges. Being the only screen featuring the infotainment system, we find this to be very distracting when on the move. Additional safety features include security systems and blind-spot monitoring.
Performance
The base six-cylinder, 3.0-liter turbocharged engine in the 2019 BMW M2 can produce up to an excellent 410-horsepower. As compared to the 2019 Audi RS3, the five cylinder 2.5-litres turbocharged engine of the TT RS can produce up to 395-horsepower. Despite being quicker than most of its competition, the steering of the 2019 Audi TT RS isn’t as responsive.
The Bottom Line
With its excellent interior design and fantastic engine, the 2019 Audi TT RS has been beloved by many. From this comparison, however, it is obvious that the TT RS pales in comparison to the 2019 BMW M2 for a multitude of reasons – better designed seating arrangement and better infotainment system. The 2019 BMW M2 is just that much better!
