Competition BMW of Smithtown are very big fans of BMW USA’s excitable Concept vehicles. Concept vehicles from BMW are vehicles created with limitless creativity, passion and imagination by BMW’s designers and engineers with the knowledge of knowing this vehicle will not and cannot (usually) be duplicated or even mass-produced! As previously discussed, BMW showcased a new concept vehicle in 2023, the BMW i Vision Dee: The Ultimate Companion. Capable of changing colors, home to a virtual assistant designed to “get you”, capabilities to project a virtual world into your very-real space and displaying your most important information from your phone to your windshield, BMW USA put in a plethora of effort into the BMW i Vision Dee. BMW will now be honing its efforts into debuting a concept vehicle that is closer to being able to be manufactured than ever before!

The coolest BMW vehicles and concept vehicles are constantly being imagined! As per BMW CEO, Oliver Zipse, BMW is striving to close the gap between levels of unattainable and iconic concept vehicles and their features to implement new-found expectations, functionality and innovation in BOTH BMW concept vehicles as well as purchasable, manufactured BMW vehicles.

Meet the BMW Vision Neue Klasse

Meet the BMW Vision Neue Klasse, a BMW Concept Vehicle that is “one step closer to standard production.” Following quickly behind the footsteps of the BMW i Vision Dee, this concept vehicle will showcase on September 2nd, 2023 and will be launching for the public in 2025. 

What is the BMW Neue Klasse?

The Neue Klasse, or “New Class”, is a super-large project utilizing the entire company’s aid. BMW’s Neue Klasse focuses on the future of the BMW brand, the BMW group and BMW’s overall portfolio. There has been an intense amount of preparation to take on the task of BMW Neue Klasse. 

Fun Fact! BMW chose September 2nd to debut the BMW Vision Neue Klasse as this date is held closely within the hearts of BMW. September 2nd marks almost 60 years of the BMW Neue Klasse claim!

BMW USA will continue to make investments towards applicable technologies over the next few years to further enhance their future vehicles. As avid fans of their extreme inventiveness, this news is truly exciting. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse will allow us to peer into the possible installed goodies found within BMW vehicles of all shapes and sizes.

What vehicles are the BMW Vision Neue Klasse for?

BMW plans to launch its innovations in 2025. The BMW Vision Neue Klasse caters to the BMW 3 Series segment and will have two models:

Sedan

• Will be globally available
• Resembles BMW’s first all-electric Legacy Vehicle: The BMW i3

• This larger model is rumored to be based off of the next-generation of the BMW iX3 only sold (and created in) Europe and China

The 2022 BMW iX3

The BMW 3 Series is a perfect recipient to expand upon BMW’s already impressive suite of technologies. BMW has grand plans to expand. Did you know that BMW has already confirmed SIX upcoming models based on BMW’s Neue Klasse EV-dedicated architecture debuting between 2025 and 2027?! 

What drives these powerful vehicles?

BMW USA is utilizing their 6th generation of battery power to fuel these futuristic electric vehicles! You’ll be able to charge the newest batteries from BMW at your local charging station and get 30 miles for 1 minute of charging or gain 0-95% of battery within a quick 12 minute charge!

 CATL, Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., China’s battery giant and global leader of new energy innovative technologies, will be supplying BMW with all of the cylindrical batteries needed for manufacturing. Cylindrical batteries will be installed within every single one of the BMW Vision Neue Klasse future electric vehicles.

Fun Fact! CATL has been supplying BMW with various automotive elements for over a decade!

These circular batteries were chosen due to their faster charging speeds, lower production costs and reduced C02 emissions during manufacturing as well as due to their projected capability of increasing EV range, enhancing energy density and reducing overall weight. 

There are two batteries designed for two different BMW vehicles. A 10-mm tall cells will be placed into BMW’s SAV, and smaller vehicles will have a 95-mm cell within it. *Both batteries have a 45-mm diameter.* BMW has not left an innovative avenue unexplored. These batteries from BMW are designed to retain 80% of their original performance, even after a DECADE of use! Talk about ensuring long-term reliability from BMW for the newest generation of BMW’s electric vehicles.  

Projected Production Timeline: 

BMW is working tirelessly to begin the home-stretch of debuting the BMW Vision Neue Klasse on September 2nd! After the exciting reveal of this concept vehicle, BMW will begin to implement some awesome features into their next generation of vehicles, the BMW Neue Klasse, from their impressive factories to your homes! The initial BMW models with the BMW Neue Klasse (NE) architecture will be produced at the new Debrecen plant located in Hungary. Munich and Shanghai‘s production facilities will begin a year after Hungary. San Luis Potosi and Spartanburg‘s production plants have no official date, but they plan on partaking in NE production in the foreseeable future.
